Walls and Ceilings

Your interior walls and ceilings make up the largest surface areas in your home and thus have the largest visual impact for you when you’re looking throughout your home. The colors and paint sheens make a big impact on the end look, but a good application makes the biggest difference and makes everything blend together properly and look amazing.

We will clear out the spaces that need to be painted, clean the surfaces that are to be painted, then mask/cover any areas that we don’t want to paint. Our skilled painters are the best in the Antioch area and have mastered techniques for applying a smooth, consistent coat every time.

Interior trim is usually painted a color that gives a nice contrast to the walls and highlights the openings throughout your home. This provides a more appealing and lively environment to move about in.

Cabinet Painting and Staining

Cabinets are the dominant feature in a kitchen which is one of the most important rooms in a house. Not only do they make up a huge chunk of the value of a home but they are where your family spends a ton of their time. Changing the color of your cabinets can change the entire look and feel of your kitchen and make you feel like you’re walking into a totally different room.
Our painters are experts at taking tarnished and dated cabinets and using their artful painting skills to turn them into a new-looking set that is nice to look at and holds up against the constant abuse that happens in every kitchen as it is used.

The process for painting cabinets can be very involved and if done incorrectly, leave things looking worse than they did in the beginning. First, we’ll remove the doors and hardware to make the frames easier to get to. We’ll sand and scrape old peeling paint to make a nice smooth surface for the new paint to adhere to. After that, we’ll clean the entire area to be painted so that it’s free of dust and debris. By the end of the process you’ll look at your cabinets and swear they are brand new.

Are you considering a cabinet paint job as an option for your kitchen remodel? The first step is to invite us into your home to take a look so we can help you explore your options and make sure you get exactly what you’re looking for before you make any final decisions.

Doors, Windows, and Trim

Door Painting

When it’s time to paint the doors, we’ll remove them from the frame and then take off the hardware, storing it in a safe place or disposing of it if you have new hardware to put on. We’ll mask off the hinge inserts so as to not build up the thickness of the door too much to fit back into the frame and open/close properly. Depending on the current condition of the door, it may require sanding and scraping to remove old peeling paint and provide a smooth surface for the new coats of paint. Depending on the situation, we may apply a primer before the main coats to ensure we get the final finish we’re looking for.

Window Painting

A lot of the windows being installed these days are made of plastic and come in various colors but the higher-end and older windows are made of wood. These types of windows can be painted or stained to match the rest of the interior of your home. The process for painting windows is similar to doors in that we’ll remove the pieces we can to make them easier to paint. We’ll mask off the glass and remove the hardware before either spraying or brushing the paint depending on the look we’re going for. Multiple coats, including primer, are usually necessary to get a smooth finish that is thick enough to cover the old colors below, especially if the old colors were darker. The end result is a durable layer of protection for the materials underneath creating a long-lasting look that you will enjoy for years.

Trim Painting

The trim in your home can be painted or stained in place or before it’s installed. If we paint it in place, we’ll need to carefully mask off any areas that we don’t want to get paint on. In other areas we will use special brushing techniques that allow us to apply paint into a corner and avoid getting paint on the other side. It’s pretty incredible! If the trim is painted before installation, we’ll come in behind the installer and putty all of the nail holes. When the putty dries, we’ll sand the spots to make sure they’re smooth before we take a touch-up brush and hit the nail spots blending them away and making the entire series of trim pieces appear as one long continuous piece. The sign of a great trim paint job is that you can’t tell where one piece begins and the other ends.

Popcorn Ceiling Removals

Popcorn ceilings were popular in the past, but they are now uncommon in modern homes. Aside from mildew and lead in paint, popcorn ceilings containing asbestos are regarded one of the most dangerous health hazards. Asbestos-containing popcorn ceilings have been associated to a variety of malignancies, including mesothelioma and asbestosis.

It can be incredibly difficult to remove a popcorn ceiling on your own. If you want to get rid of these ceilings in your house, we can help you! Give us a call at (615) 780-8641 to schedule your free, detailed estimate now.
